Forest School

Hello, this post will run every week for parents to see what we are getting up to in Forest School. I will try to get access to pictures, but I cannot guarantee them.

Last week was all about blackberries. Blackberries, blackberries, blackberries. Here are the activities we did.

One was picking blackberries and taking them home. Not only was it fun, it was tasty too!! There was one con though; if you dropped the berries on the bus the drivers were furious!

The second activity was drawing on a piece of paper in black berry juice. It was really fun and creative too. We didn't use pens we used little pieces of wood that Mrs Cullen had brought. Some of the designs were really cool!

The third activity was the main event: Tie-dying T-Shirts with blackberry juice. How you did it was you got loads of blackberries in a cup and crushed them up with the little pieces of wood we used to draw. Then you put it in a bucket of cold water. For the T-shirt, you tied areas up with rubber bands and chucked it in the bucket. Then we bring the water to a slow boil (we could not do this) and leave it there for 24 hours. Stir. A pattern will come out when the rubber bands are taken off.

Well, that's all for this issue! Goodbye!
