On Wednesday the 3rd of June the under 11's and under 10's had fixtures with King Edwards, Bath and all of the games the U11's played we won. The same result occurred for the U10's. Dan Kelly, a fellow blogger, captained the U11 C team for the first time. We played with great sportsmanship and the match teas were delicious (they had nachos!!!!! ).

Lion King

It's been very busy week for Year 6 as we practiced for the Lion King. If you want tickets, look at Dario's post. If you want to watch the show, your mind WILL be blown because we have outstanding singers and great choreography.

PGL Hoodies

Year 6, please note that the forms for the PGL hoodies have been sent out and are urgently needed by Mrs Penny! Please bring it in!

With thanks, Dario.

Buy your Lion King tickets!

Please remember to buy your Lion King tickets as they are going fast, especially on Tuesday and Thursday. It is very good and from what Year 6 are saying it will be a very memorable night for all the family. Here are some quotes:

"It is so amazing. The quality of the singers and dancers is so top-notch and the ensemble work is unparalleled," - Louis

"You will be speechless," - Dario

If you want some tickets then go to Miss Johnson in the office! They are such good value at just £3!

Conservative's Win

It was all very tense up to this moment, but in the end, after all the commotion, the Conservatives broke through and won with currently 327 chairs (sorry if I've got it wrong). The Conservatives deserve a big win and David Cameron still holds 10 Downing Street.

4S Assembly

The 4S assembly was a great success and it was enjoyed by everyone. Their topic was fair trade and it was another very important thing that we had to know about. It was all about how important it is that everyone gets enough money for the products that they make. It was a very interesting assembly with drama, speaking and videos. They made an important point about chocolate and cocoa beans. Everyone was very loud and clear, consequently making it a very enjoyable assembly!!

#Fair trade
#Dario says bye

Pokemon obsession

In Year three and four there is currently a pokemon obsession to collect all the cards. There are hundreds and lots of special, rare and limited edition cards too! I wish them all luck in being amazing and completing THE ULTIMATE POKEMON COLLECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodbye... Dario

P.S. I don't know anything about pokemon myself!

5AD assembly

5AD's amazing assembly                                            1/5/15

Today 5AD put on an amazing assembly about the general election. They were talking about the right to vote which is a very important subject that we need to know about. They did it in a funny way using drama and sketches to express who were and who weren't allowed to vote a long time ago. Just a few hundred years ago, blacks, women, people who didn't own land, gay people and people under 21 couldn't vote. It was very unfair but we have fixed it now and our democracy is one of the best in the world. The voting age is currently 18 but some parties want to take it down to 16. Also, right now people in prison aren't allowed to vote and there is a debate about whether they should be able to. People who have been deemed medically insane are also not allowed to vote and there is another debate on this subject. Also in the assembly, during the prayer there was a random sneeze that made the hall erupt into hysterics. HA HA HA!!

This is Dario the pro signing off!!

Goodbye!!!

PINCH PUNCH

FIRST OF THE MONTH.

5NH's assembly 24/4/15

Today 5NH performed there assembly it was BRILLIANT.
There was a bit of Morris dancing ,acting, singing and even a bit of a cricket game.

5NH started off with Morris Dancing so I will, when the girls went to do Morris dancing, I had never seen Morris dancing before so I think they did a pretty good job.

We've all seen acting but not in this way, it was all about the gunpowder plot, it was histerically funny.

After the acting there was a little cricket game, Harry bowled the ball and then Luke hit the ball right in the audience, I think it was everybody's aim to get a ball, luckily they were only soft balls!!!!!

After all the excitement Mr Harris showed us a clip on cheese rolling.( I did check the spelling, search and find it.)Cheese rolling is where you roll down a hill, it might sound easy but loads of people have broken there necks, spine, legs and there head!! At the end of this marvellous assembly we sung a old folk song called Be Thou My Vision

Mock elections 19/4/15

Mock elections took place in assembly. It was so cool! Six parties sent their representatives to us and they tried to convince us to vote for them. (It wasn't actually real!!!). There were The Communists, The Green Party, The Labour Party, The Conservative Party, and the Liberal Democrats. They were very convincing!!!
The teachers all had to vote as well which was very cool.
Here are some opinions:

"Well, it was quite, um, it was quite an opportunity really."- Louis Clevett

"It was alright actually."- Krish Vjj

"I was very impressed by the speakers and I think it's great that everyone is so interested in the election."- Mrs Penny

To sum up, it was really great and everyone loved it.

MRS STEVENS IS BLOGGING!!!!!!!!!

23/3/15 #nevergiveup

On the 23rd Mr Turpin performed a fabulous assembly. As soon as we got into the Great Hall,  Mr Turpin got Helen, Samuel, Kitty and Mark to poke a straw through a potato (nobody could do it). Mark and Samuel got help from CHEATER Lord Harris and Kitty got help from CHEATER Mrs Cullen. They cheated by poking a pen and pencil through the potato. Mr Turpin showed us a quote of a famous basketball player while Helen, Samuel, Kitty and Mark tried to put more straws through the potato. This quote is very strong.

                              "Michael Jordan".

At the end of the assembly Mrs Whitehead got us to sing "Bring it all back to you" by the Beatles.
The message for this assembly is that you........

NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Bristol School's Swimming Gala

Swimming photos

To be honest I think BGS did really well. Everyone tried their best. There were loads of schools there, so there was a lot of competition.  It was really hard. BGS came 1st and 2nd in a few races.
Bishop Road were very good and had some strong swimmers.  It was good that we came back in time for activity afternoon.

5KD Assembly (Comic Relief/Red Nose Day) 13/3/15

Today 5KD performed their assembly. It was marvellous!  It was all about Comic Relief. It was very interesting because they told us all about people who don't have much money. At the end of the performance they played us a wonderful song which everybody joined in with and told us how much we are helping the poor. I think it was the best Comic Relief Day ever.
